Sue Lynn Cotton has worked as a full-time artist for over thirty years.
Before moving to the Bradenton/Sarasota area , she designed logos,
brochures
and catalogues, illustrated shoes, clothes, faces and more for hundreds of
clients in Dallas. Working with a publisher, she designed book covers and
illustrated many books.
Sue Lynn also does architectural renderings. In Dallas she painted
several sorority houses at SMU and many local historic houses,
buildings, and storefronts. In Bradenton she continues to pursue
this by painting local restaurants and buildings as well as
pre-construction renderings for local builders.
She loves painting portraits in vivid, exciting watercolor, as well as a
variety of other subjects including animals, flowers and landscapes of
Florida, Texas and Colorado. Her goal is to entertain the viewer with
light
and color while expressing the personality of the person or place that she
is painting. Her unique use of a limited palette and
color mixing directly on the paper adds a special look to each piece.
She shares her passion for watercolors with dozens of students who paint
with her each week at the Anna Maria Island Community Center, Longboat Key
Education Center, Michael's in Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch Art Group. She
also provides private lessons.
 Her
work can be seen in the Art Guild of Anna Marie Island Gallery,
Longboat Key Center for the Arts, Restless Natives, Marina's
Village of the Arts Gallery in Bradenton, Manatee Real Estate
Gallery and Southwest Corner Gallery in Dallas.
